Love this restaurant
It was delicious!!!! Definitely going back
Food taste great with great service
Walking in the place smells like it’s good food! The oxtail falls off the bone 😋
MoreLove it! Good food, great customer service! Only complaint...out of plantain "-(. Next time.
MoreIt takes me back to Florida and all my good times, the food is excellent
They now charge $14 for goat curry and you'll get half the portion you get anywhere else. Not sure why they think that's a reasonable price with the paltry portions you get. We came at 11:30 and they were out of most of their sides, and they didn't even tell us. They just assume red beans and rice & cabbage, like you ordered it? When I asked about the Jamaican spinach on their menu, they just said "No. No spinach" and didn't make eye contact like I was trifling. My friends had the same experience. I think these guys are racist to be honest. I see how other customers get treated, and my other friends have made the same observation. Never coming here again.
MoreThis place is that hole in the wall joint you see on one of those travel eating shows that's ducked away where you don't expect it. It taste as good as one of those spots too
MoreVery good Jamaican food... Oxtails is my favorite..Goat is really good also
Great food, relaxed atmosphere. A taste of home for this Trini girl
Love this place..
First off, I would drive by this establishment frequently when going downtown to the bank and wondered about the food here but always ended up eating somewhere else downtown because lets be honest, parking sucks downtown and you usually eat wherever you find a spot. No longer is that the case. This place is awesome. I had the Jerk Ribs today with cabbage and carrots. Amazing. Very hearty portions and the jerk flavor is really good. Authentic guys, authentic food, very much a must try. This is a place geared towards take-out. It is a little hole-in-the-wall place on Capitol street downtown but it is worth finding a parking space and picking up a to go order. This is now a permanent location on my places to eat list. Good change of pace from the typical spots.
MoreFood is not as good as it was back several years ago. And now that they've switched to Square, make sure you see the final ticket. The cashier didn't ask me to sign anything or for a gratuity amount. I checked my card online when I got home, and instead of being charged $11.50, I was charged $28.50. I don't know if he put the guy in front of me on my tab covertly (never saw him pay) or if he just gave himself a big gratuity. But it was a pain having to dispute and I'm certain was not an accident.
MoreGreat food, very flavorful. I always get the jerk chicken and it always taste amazing with so much flavor! The people are always friendly and I love how they are interactive with the community too. I am sad they are not open on weekends but I always recommend everyone I know to come and try their food!
MoreUpon entering we (my mom and I) were greeted and told what menu items they had for the day. I got the jerk chicken plate, which came with rice & beans, cabbage, and jerk sauce. My mom ordered curry chicken & rice (I forget what side came with it) and the guy who fixed the plate offered her a taste of curry shrimp for free. It was absolutely delicious! The shrimp and the chicken were nice and tender, the food was properly seasoned, it was just great! It was my first, but hopefully not last time.
MoreFirst time trying "carribean" food, so I can't tell you if it's authentic, but it is very tasty. I had the Jerk Ribs with steamed cabbage & carrots + fried plantains. The guy serving the food ladled broth from what I believe was the oxtails over the cabbage, which was amazing. Ribs were very tender, but not mushy. The employees seemed less than enthused to be working, but weren't rude and were quick to complete my order (takeout).Overall, I'd definitely go back. I can't remember the last time I've tried chewing through the bones for the last bit of juice and marrow.
MoreThe best Caribbean food i found in Mississippi by far
Nice friendly ppl and good food
The cabbage was salty and crunchy , rice over cooked and the curry chicken didn’t have the flavor I’m accustom to. The plate has three sections and they only put food in two; really? For $10! They ran out of food so around 1pm you have to ask what’s available. The food didn’t have love in it, period. And it’s hotter in the restaurant than it is outside.
MoreAnything curry is always good to go..
Tiny spot, no frills location. Good food. Wish they had more business hours.
Absolutely love the food. Can't wait til Monday to go back 😊
Everytime I go there I'm treated well and as always the food be on point! Great place to eat at anytime.
MoreMost definitely a meal to go and get
This is a purely Jamaican and Caribbean restaurant. They have great food great prices and great customer service. They also have great authentic Jamaican and Caribbean non alcoholic drinks such as ginger beer and other drinks. They are a very interesting and authentic eating spot.
MoreThe Curry Goat is $14 but the portion you receive is worth about $7.I enjoy the goat but I won'tt be coming back.
MoreFood was terrible for $9, is this really jamaican I will nvr go back
This was my first time in here. Super cool spot for a quick lunch. Really good food. I got the oxtail. Came stacked on a pile of rice with some beans in it. The gravy with the ox tail was absolutely delicious. Fine eating! But it's kinda a rough spot and if you're unfamiliar with downtown Jackson it may not be the place for you. But damn was it good
MoreFirst time every having Caribbean food and Oxtails and I must say it was DELICIOUS. It was good to the last drop. The staff was very friendly and the price of the food was very reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you are in or around Jackson, Mississippi area please stop by. I promise you wouldn’t regret it.
MoreAlways a great meal here !!!
I had the curry shrimp and rice. It was wonderfully delicious. I will definitely be back. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Please take the time to experience a taste of the Caribbean.
MoreI actually met the owner of this establishment prior to visiting the location. His presence and personality ensured that his cuisine would be the location of authentic island good I've been looking for since I moved to MS. I was very satisfied with my choice!
MoreOxtails and cabbage were delicious!!
Food has always been good, flavor-wise, but never filling. I never thought much of it because the prices were exceptional. I went there last week to find that the prices has increased but the servings size has decreased. Sad that I have to let this place go but I'll find another place for those prices and low serving sizes. Never again..
MoreOx tail and cabbage excellent
Very disappointed with my Oxtail dinner with no sweet plantains. Cabbage was too salty and rice had no beans with a lot of gravy. Not enough Oxtails for the price.
MoreThis is Sundi's favorite spot....Hi Richard!
1st time for Jerk chicken and it was delicious. Friendly guys and obviously a popular place for lunch!
MoreWe've tried to come by here 3 times. They would close when they run out of food even though it states 4pm as their hours of operation.I don't eat enough Caribbean Jamaican food to tell you if it's authentic or not... but I can tell you that it's good. I really enjoyed their rice with the chicken curry and jerk chicken. Cabbage was great too.Only negative was that our portions were a little small. They don't have ac so I can't imagine eating here during the summer. Other than that, it was good.
MoreCompared to other Jamaican restaurants, I was disappointed. Overall, food was bland, especially the rice.
MoreCurry goat is the best served on Wednesdays and fridays.
Hands down the best jamaican food in Jackson
Great Shrimp Curry special
The food is not as good as portrayed! I was traveling through & was told to eat here & the owner was RUDE & seemling thought that he could joke and play around with me & I DID NOT LIKE IT NOT ONE BIT, because he did not know me like that! I will definitely NOT be going back!!!
MoreGreat food. Cooked with you in mind. Gives us a Caribbean experience. Good, quality food. Fresh.
MoreThe food is delicious and the staff is so friendly! A must have if you are visiting and a staple if you live in Jackson or surrounding area.
MoreGreat food!! If oxtails are what you're going for, better get there early because they are ALWAYS the 1st thing they run out of, but I've loved everything I've tried there so far.
MoreIt is like returning home! The staff remember your face and favorites. You would occasionally see frequent customers eating and laughing. The smiles here set the background for a loud ," YES MON"! (IN MY ISLAND VOICE)
MoreIs a nice change from the norm. Is a hole in the wall kinda place. Great, friendly service. The chef seems to genuinely care and it obvious he love sharing his style of food. I love the music and you want leave hungry.
MoreFood hot and fresh. First time visiting. Great customer service
